BeeFarmer and Scott,
I have a Ventrac 4000. They are made by VenturePro in Orrville, Ohio. The owners are part of the Steiner Family. Check them out. I am very happy with my unit after using for almost a year. I am mowing a couple of very steep hills without dual wheels and feel very safe. Also, the Company is very good at fixing problems they find and letting the customers know about them. I spent a lot time comparing the Steiners and the Ventracs and decided on the Ventrac because it was more comfortable and easier to use.

Are all of the new attachments on the website yet so we can see them or do I need to visit my favorite dealer? I am real interested in the stump grinder. What other attachments are in the works besides the one you mentioned?

I have a Ventrac 4000 with the 24hp Kubuto Gas Engine. I took delivery from the dealer in May of this year. I purchased it with a 60" mower deck, a slip scoop and a 60" dozer blade. It also has the 3-point hitch system and foot-pedal options installed. I am extremely pleased with my dealer and his support.

I have the foot pedal on my unit. I don't use it much except when doing a lot of shuttling between locations with the slip scoop. The Hand control can be used to control the up and down movement of the front implement as well as forward and backward movement of the tractor all at the same time. This allows you to control how deep you are digging in with the scoop or blade without losing forward momentum just like a bulldozer. I usually run my unit with the control on the dash in the upmost position so that it is smoother on the hand control. I have actually dug a ditch with the scoop thanks to the down pressure of the hydraulics and being able to control it all with one hand.

My unit has the 24hp Kubota gas engine in it. It has plenty of power for me and my uses. I thought long and hard about the diesels but decided to go with the gas because of all of my other tools use gas and diesel is not readily available near my home. The unit was a dealer demo and when it was demonstrated at my home, the dealer had a 72" mower on it and it performed very well in tall grass. I figured it would be fine with the 60" mower which is all I needed.
